Drawing Inks And Block Inks On Paper Formentera Island 40 X 29.2 Cm.
The inspiration for this series comes from places I have visited.
The inspiration for this piece came from Formentera lsland , the smallest of the Pityusic Islands which belong to the Balearic Islands community.
The word Formentera is said to derive from formentarium the Latin word for granary.
The island is 20km long and 2km wide, it’s a peaceful paradise of pristine unspoiled white beaches.
The oldest tombs of the Balearics exist here, the megalithic graves of Ca Na Costa. You will find a circular chamber of large slabs and paving that dates back to 2000 BCE. Eight bodies were excavated in total as well as ceramics.
