19C ANTIQUE ITALIAN MOLARONI PESARO SIGNED MAJOLICA TULIPIERE CHERUBS BLUE WHITE CERAMIC SIGNED

This listing is for an exquisite ANTIQUE late 19th century Italian ceramic vase, signed by the renowned Molarini Pesaro, features a beautiful blue and white colour scheme and is adorned with cherubs. The triple gourd shape is magnificent with each of the gourds having 4 necks with wavy frilled edges. The tulipiere majolica is an original antique piece, made from high-quality ceramic/porcelain material in Italy. The company started in C1880….and followed similar designs since the 17th century.

The vase is a stunning example of the craftsmanship and artistry of the period and is sure to be a standout piece in any collection. With its beautiful design and original provenance, this antique vase is a must-have for any serious collector of Italian ceramics. Beautiful in pale blue and white it makes a very decorative feature even without being filled with tulips. The artwork is most pleasing with the four cherubs on the lower station, Italian landscapes with the tall Cyprus trees and nostalgic countryside dwellings. On the base there are recoco feathers and a pattern that seems to be on many different makes of the similar TULIPIERES…a repeated sloping scallop pattern, with an inner smaller line….then above is a border of leaves. The more you look the more you see….!!

A lovely item for flower arrangers or antique collectors or that special gift for a very special occasion.

MEASUREMENTS: Height 15” X Base 4.5” X Top lip diameter 3”

CONDITION: Remarkable condition considering age. I can find only a couple of small chips on the top lip and a number of smaller nibbles on some of the other spout edges. (please see photos)…..a few slightly rough edges on the spouts when felt with my fingernail. More photos and video to follow…..

RESEARCH NOTES:

The Ceramic Artist Molaroni manufacture, since 1880, has been producing furniture majolica entirely made by hand, still in the historic headquarters of Pesaro. The elegance of the shapes and the refinement of the exclusive decors have remained intact throughout the ultra-centennial history of the company making it one of the oldest on the international scene. The masterpieces, entirely hand-painted by great artists, make the still current production of vases, amphores, centrepieces, plates, lamps, jewellets, and studio objects unique.
